The short version
- License charges ($4 a month or $29.90 a year — the first one or a renewal): refunded in full if you ask within 30 days of the charge.
- Top-ups (including the $5 of the first purchase and auto top-ups): the unused part is refunded if you ask within 30 days. What was already spent on recognition and models is not — we have paid the providers for it.
- After 30 days there are no refunds, but your balance never expires.
- Cancel any time: the license runs to the end of the period you paid for, and nothing more is charged.
- Your consumer rights — such as the 14-day right of withdrawal in the EU, the UK and Serbia — are untouched; our 30 days are longer.
- Ask at [email protected] or through Paddle. The refund goes to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days.
1. Who refunds
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
You buy the WhooshType license and top-ups from Paddle, and Paddle pays the refunds — to the payment method you used. This policy says when a refund is due; Paddle’s own refund policy applies alongside it, and where the two differ, the rule that is better for you applies.
2. The 30-day money-back guarantee
The license. If WhooshType doesn’t suit you, ask within 30 days of a license charge — the first one or any renewal — and we refund that charge in full, whether or not you used the app.
Top-ups. Ask within 30 days of a top-up and we refund the part of it that is still on your balance. The part that was spent is not refunded: each cloud request cost real money at the speech and language-model providers, which we have paid. Your balance is always visible in the app.
The first purchase ($9, or $34.90 with the yearly license) is a license charge and a top-up, so both rules apply: within 30 days you get the license’s price back and whatever of the $5 you have not spent — the whole sum if you have not used the cloud at all. The 30 days count from the date of the charge on your Paddle receipt; each charge is looked at on its own.
3. After 30 days
A license charge or a top-up older than 30 days is not refunded — but the balance never expires: it stays on your account, also while your license is not active, and is spent only when you use the cloud. Two exceptions in your favour: if we discontinue WhooshType, we refund the unused balance in full, however old; and if we close your account for a reason other than a breach of the Terms, we refund the unused part of the current license period and the unused balance. Invites are free, so there is nothing to refund; an unused allowance expires at the end of its period.
4. Cancelling, renewals and auto top-up
The license is a subscription of $4 a month or $29.90 a year. You can cancel at any time in the app or in Paddle’s customer portal (the link is in every receipt, or go to paddle.net). Cancelling stops future charges; the license works until the end of the period you have paid for, with no pro-rata refund for the remaining days — unless the charge is less than 30 days old, in which case section 2 applies. Forgot to cancel and got charged for a renewal? Ask within 30 days of that charge and it is refunded.
With auto top-up on, Paddle charges the amount you chose whenever your balance runs low. Each such charge is a top-up: its unused part is refunded under section 2. You can change the amount or turn auto top-up off at any time in the app; a top-up charged after you turned it off, or in an amount you did not choose, is refunded in full.
5. Mistakes and problems
- Charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged an amount you did not choose: refunded in full at any time, no 30-day limit.
- The app does not work for you — it cannot be installed on a supported computer, or cloud requests keep failing for reasons on our side: tell us; we refund the license charge and credit back what the failed requests cost.
- Something was charged that should not have been: write to us with the time it happened and we put it right on your balance. A request refused before it started costs nothing.
6. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits the rights consumer law gives you. Consumers in the EU, the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Serbia have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content or a digital service without giving a reason; at checkout Paddle asks for your consent to start the service immediately, after which that right lapses for content you have started to use. Our 30-day guarantee goes beyond this. Consumers elsewhere have whatever their law and Paddle’s refund policy provide; if any such rule is better for you than this policy, it applies.
7. What happens after a refund
A refunded license charge ends the license period it paid for; the app stops working until you buy a new license, and everything stored on your computer stays as it is. A refunded top-up is taken off your balance. Paddle pays the refund to the original payment method where possible; it usually shows up within 5–10 business days, and at the latest 14 days after approval.
8. Abuse and chargebacks
The guarantee lets you try WhooshType without risk, not use it for free. We may refuse a refund where there is fraud or clear abuse — for example repeatedly buying and refunding the first purchase — and close the account; a refund of the first purchase is given once per person. If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of writing to us, the account is suspended while the dispute is reviewed, as Paddle’s policy provides. Writing to us first is faster: we answer within two business days and refund what this policy says without any dispute.
9. How to ask for a refund
- Email [email protected] from the address you sign in with, or from any address with the order number from your Paddle receipt. Say which charge you mean; a reason is welcome but not required.
- Or use Paddle: the “Manage subscription” / “Manage transaction” link in your receipt, or paddle.net. Paddle checks the request against this policy with us.
- We answer within two business days and tell you the amount; Paddle then pays it to your original payment method.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the date at the top says which version is in force, and a charge is refunded under the policy that was in force when it was made. Questions: [email protected], or .
